Natural ADHD Help
Drug-free Sensible Solutions

20 years ago, I was a parent looking for a ray of hope.  Through
years of struggling, I looked for solutions for my ADHD son in the
gamut of experimental medical and teaching methods, bio- and
neuro-feedback, software, brain boosters and chemical substances,
including just about every ADD medication known.  With my own
background and experience as a Learning Disability Specialist and
Educational Therapist, I was bound and determined to find a solution
for my son.  How I wish I knew then, some of the things I know now!
I now know the root causes of ADD, ADHD and many other common
health ailments.  I've created this website to share some of the
amazing secrets I've learned and how they have benefited my son
who has learning disabilities and ADHD.  I don't want anyone else to
go through the pain I've gone through.  Therefore I am offering a
free "crash course" called
Understanding and Surviving AD/HD --
a limited time offer, so see below for details!

         MY STORY

It started at an early age
"Your son will be at high-risk for learning disabilities and attention
deficit disorder.”  These words, spoken by a neurologist when
Jason, my son, was 2 years of age, turned out to be prescient,
and extremely accurate, although I discounted them at the time.
But I am an optimistic person by nature, and besides, I had no
idea of the seriousness of what this neurologist was saying.

When Jason entered kindergarten at age six (I let him wait a year,
just to be sure), it was a different story, however.  About two weeks
into the year, I noticed his sad face when I picked him up one day,
and asked him what was the matter.  “My teacher says I work too
slow!” he reluctantly told me.  And that was just the beginning of
the problems and challenges we were to face together over the
next twenty years.

My backgound
At that time, I was in a Master’s Degree program studying learning
disabilities and getting a special education credential, so one would
think I was supremely well-qualified to help Jason deal with such
problems.  Much to my surprise though, I learned that none of the
methods I was studying was a cure, indeed, there virtually was no
cure.  In fact, the “medical model” once used to explain learning
disorders and AD/HD had more or less been abandoned due to
lack of hard evidence.  In other words, the message to me and
other parents whose kids were suffering was “Accept that your
child will always be limited.”  But you know what?  When it came
to MY child, that wasn’t good enough!

Trial and Error and Side Effects
Over the years and through a great deal of trial and error, I found
many methods and products that helped in one way or another,
and Jason became my own experimental subject, in many ways.
Luckily, he was usually open to trying different things, at least if I
could explain to him how it might help him.  When we tried Ritalin,
during his 3rd grade year, however, he became severely depressed
within several months of starting it, and we had to take him off and
begin treatment with anti-depressants.  At one point during his
teenage years, he became so violent and depressed that I had to
have him institutionalized for evaluation.  The day I took him to that
facility surely stands out as one of the darkest days of my life,
especially when I noted that it was on the same grounds as the
offices of the pediatrician and neurologist he had seen as a two
year old!

The psychiatric evaluation confirmed his ADHD (it had been
classified as ADD before that) and depressive/mood disorder, and
he was placed on a “second-tier” medication, since all the first-tier
ones had been tried with various ill effects.  The only ill effect of
this medication, it seemed, was that it made him fall asleep during
times when not much was happening, such as during class time!
Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, by this time he was in a
private school for behavior disordered kids, so not much was
happening in class anyway.  However, he communicated to me that
he really wanted to work his way out of this situation, and together
we planned his return to the “real world” and the regular classroom
environment.  With a lot of counseling, tutoring, and just plain
“talking things through” he was able to do just that, and graduated right on time from our
neighborhood high school.  He was also able to go off his medication, which he was eager
to do because of the side effects.  He was very proud of himself for his achievements, as
am I.  He says it proved to him that he could do anything if he wanted it bad enough.

Problems continue after graduation
Still, the problems weren’t over once he had graduated, as is usually the case for students
with learning disabilities and AD/HD.  He had to take the driver’s test three times before
finally getting his license, failed twice to complete even one semester of college, had a
hard time finding a job after high school, and an even harder time keeping a job.  Several
times he was reprimanded and once he was fired for mistakes that were probably directly
related to his ADHD.  He was also discharged from a stint in the army due to behavioral
issues stemming from the same condition.  I began to seriously wonder if he would ever
be capable of becoming a self-supporting adult.  He was beginning to remind me of my
younger sister, who although she had been identified as "gifted" in elementary school,
had never been able to hold a job for more than six months due to her ADD and
depressive illness.

He found a natural solution
Still on a search for something that would help, Jason started seeing a chiropractor and
reported some immediate benefits.  Even I noticed that he was calmer and less irritable
and seemed to be able to get more done in a day.  He told me then that his chiropractor
had introduced him to some natural food supplements that seemed to be helping his
ability to sustain attention and concentration.  When he showed it to me, he enthused,
“Mom, this stuff is great -- you really have to try it.”  He was at this time working on
building an art portfolio.  Art is a talent Jason has always had in abundance, but without
the discipline necessary to really accomplish much finished work. Now he would disappear
into his “studio” in our garage for hours at a time, barely coming in, even to eat or use the
bathroom.  He said he wanted to use it to have an art show, or alternatively, to use it to
get into an art college.   Finally there seemed to be a light at the end of the tunnel!

It worked for me too
Anyway, at his urging, I tried out the products for myself, quite skeptically and reluctantly
at first, I must say.  Like many parents of AD/HD kids, I saw many of the same
characteristics in myself that I saw in him, and had often wondered if I wasn’t suffering
from the same condition, although I seemed to have managed to be successful in spite of
it.  Still, I couldn’t think of any reason why I couldn’t improve my success still further,
especially if it didn’t involve taking drugs, something I have always been loath to do.  One
of the first things I noticed was more energy to get me through the day, and that I was
being a lot more efficient getting things done. Even better, after about two weeks I felt a
hard-to-define yet growing sense of "wellbeing" about these products, like it was meeting
many different needs, on many different levels, including some I hadn't even thought
about.  So I have continued to experiment with these natural supplements, with
increasingly positive results, and have experienced a wide variety of health benefits, even
in areas where I thought I was already in pretty good shape.  I also began sharing the
products with the families I work with as an educational therapist, as so many of these
children also have health and nutritional needs, alongside their attention and learning
challenges.

A ray of hope ...without drugs
If there’s one thing I hear more than anything else from parents of kids with behavior and
learning challenges, it is the wish that they could help them without having to resort to
drugs.  Those whose kids are on medications, even with overall positive results, still have
to cope with a variety of side effects.  All of these children seem to benefit in many ways
from the addition of natural wholefood supplements to their daily diet.  With a little
education and some really simple to follow suggestions, amazing and positive changes
can be achieved for kids and adults who suffer from the debilitating effects of AD/HD.

Understanding and Surviving AD/HD
I hope you will take advantage of this limited time offer, and sign-up for the free mini-
course
Understanding and Surviving AD/HD that will give you a glimpse into what
research is saying about the underlying causes, related physical/mental/emotional issues
and promising natural methods and techniques to help you and/or your child to survive
and even thrive.

My mini-course, consisting of 12 short lessons, one per week, each on a different topic,
will give you a well-rounded understanding of the causes and a "toolbox" of approaches

and remedies
to help individuals with this often debilitating disorder.  Whether or not you
need or use medication, I think you will agree that we all need to spend more time
learning about the natural approaches out there, and how to address the root causes and
the most serious effects of AD/HD which medicine does not address.
